A 10 partner, locally-owned firm with 5 offices across Southwestern Ontario, our team is comprised of 75 professionals who serve companies at all stages of their development from emerging and owner-managed businesses to large private companies, not-for-profit organizations, governments, professionals and individuals.
To support our growth, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Cross-Border / US Tax to join our team of private company focused specialists.
Your primary responsibilities will include:

Working closely with the Tax Partners and other senior tax staff, to develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients with a cross-border focus

Performing technical research, developing and documenting tax planning recommendations, interpreting Tax Treaties

Reviewing / concurring US and Canadian individual and corporate tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff / managers.

Meeting with clients and potential clients as part of the BT Tax Team

Supporting and mentoring firm staff in respect of tax matters

Identifying client service opportunities
A successful candidate will have:
-
At least 4-6 years of tax experience in a professional services firm, with a minimum of 4 of those in US and/or cross-border tax

Canadian and/or US CPA designation

Completion of the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course, CPA Canada Foundations of International Tax or US Masters of Tax would be an asset

Ability to manage complex cross-border client assignments from inception to completion

Comfortable working directly with clients

Self-motivation with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions

Strong proficiency in client-focused service

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines
